Istanbul
A Culinary & Cultural Journey Through Istanbul
I arrived in Istanbul with little idea of what to expect—driven by my passion for food, I was eager for exceptional kebabs and mezzes. While my heart had longed to ride the famed hot air balloons in Cappadocia, I made my first stop in this mesmerizing city. Istanbul, with its rich history and vibrant modern culture, provided the perfect prelude to my adventure.
I spent most of my time in Cihangir, the bohemian neighborhood that has become the epicenter of trendy cafes, boutiques, and creative energy. Reminiscent of Soho or Roma Norte, Cihangir is where Istanbul’s artistic soul thrives—an ideal locale for those who appreciate both history and modernity.
And of course, no trip to Istanbul is complete without a scenic boat tour along the Bosphorus. As you glide between two continents, the city’s skyline, palaces, and fortresses offer a breathtaking glimpse into its storied past and present charm.
